DealSource Gazette - The Drop! Nov 15th, 2024

Hey,

Great news! the fed funds rate is dropping and pointing towards the soft landing that everyone was hoping for. I don't think it feels soft at the employee level, but for overall options in the capital markets, it is a great sign. We are now down 75 basis points at 4.75% and can expect the rate to even out over the next year.

The market has reacted very strongly to both the presidential election results and the anticipated unleashing of dry powder over 2025. The pros and cons here are all over the board, and hopefully, we'll see a strong return to the IPO space as well.

Potential Ideas

Healthcare, managed service providers, and other rollups are poised to be rapid-fire over the next year and a half.

Distressed assets are beginning to show, Franchise Group backed by B. Riley Financial for example, and some companies won't make it through. One of the larger names is snack maker Hearthside and they review a creditor takeover.

And let's not forget that the shopping season is upon us. In remembrance of this, I would like to point out the most popular brands from last year.

Deal Sourcing Tips

The waiting game is coming to an end for many VCs and PE firms. The relationships built over the last couple of years are about to come to fruition for both IPOs and secondary investments. The off-platform purchases have been a major roll-up target for the last couple of years. Now it's time for the exits to begin. Probably with a lot of Q1 announcements.

Be sure to promote yourself, your competitors are.

If you're having trouble keeping up with everything, try using a CRM for deals and deal flow like HubSpot.

Quick question.
